BRAND BOOSTER TOP TIPS

“Who? to YOU! Brand Booster” tips

Tip number one…tell your story

Everyone has the story of their business (more of that in another tip), but it’s your personal story I’m talking about. Where you’ve come from, how you got the idea, odds you’ve overcome, life changing experiences, ah-ha moments… all that is what drives you, gives you the passion for your business, makes you different, unique and memorable.

In a world of ‘same old, same old’, our stories are what make us stand out, allowing others to empathise with and connect with us at  a much deeper level.

Your story will get you (and of course your business) in the press, on the radio and in national glossy women’s magazines with half a million readers. I know, because it’s what I’ve been doing for my clients for months now. Unprecedented response calling features editors with their stories…

Grab a copy of March 11’s Good Housekeeping page 39 and 40 where my long-standing client, dynamic social entrepreneur Farah-Naz Khan of Yoga4UK is featured in a five page story I found for her about women whose hour-a-week hobbies blossomed into careers. Farah had a fabulous time at the glamorous full day photoshoot and said, “Faye, I have had a call and Good Housekeeping want to use my story - I can't thank you enough! I am due to be in London all day apparently.”

The radio is also a great place to tell your “Moment that changed my life” story, as the indefatigable new mum: my client, accountant and now friend- Julie Robinson discovered. Julie is founder of ground-breaking Footprints Accountancy which has grown from a team of one to four in its first nine months alone!

And if you were listening to Radio Sheffield’s Rony Robinson show recently, you would have heard my inspiring new client Georgia Hall, personal trainer, developer of the astonishing Bounce Buster sports bra and entrepreneur who has just opened Underground Fitness ‘under’ the Toby Carvery at Parkhead…funnily enough site of the former Pavilion wine bar where I held my 21st celebrations.

Get a hanky ready, because when you hear what Georgia has been through in her at times neglected, difficult and chaotic life, you will understand why Rony says a lesser person would have been crushed. Instead Georgia has bounced back and is ready to make a huge success of her new venture opening shortly. Call in, book classes, take the kids and get Georgia on your fitness case. After Rony gave her business more plugs than Dixons, you won’t be the only one!

Georgia said, “Lost it for a moment, but they want me back!” Of course they do, and to comment on fitness issues, the obesity crisis, bigger-busted women, chaotic childhoods and goodness knows what else no doubt!

I’ll be sharing dozens more of my eye-popping client’s stories as well as hugely valuable tips and techniques I’ve learned with you along the way. Watch out for more…

Do email me to let me know how helpful you found this first BRAND BOOSTER won’t you? And feel free to email it to your contacts who could benefit. If they email me a request, I’ll add them to my tips list.

I’d love to hear from you- and of course, if ‘telling your story’ is proving tricky and you need a hand to get started, find an angle, just be your ghost writer for a couple of hours...it’s what I’ve done for Farah, Julie and Georgia, and it would be my pleasure to help elevate you too!
